Round MK OK - Oct 2013

Star performer this weekend was Paul Fenton who completed the first of our Endurance 80 training walks by walking 22 miles with the LDWA. The LDWA may be chronologically challenged but they are fit and fast, as Paul found out. The Group did also include former UK long distance walking champions, so we were with the real elite.

Respect also to Emily Stevens for starting although she was not able to finish.

What happened to everyone else who said they were coming along??? Only the tough arrive.

Next training walk is Sunday 3 November: Steppingly Step.

Bronze D of E exedition success - Sept 2013

Well done to both Cetendone teams who completed their Bronze D of E expedition this weekend. A beautiful September weekend in the Chilterns - what more could you want?

Boy band - Reed, Kermit, Jack, Xander, Angus whose aim was to investigate mobile signal availability

Girls - Abi, Emily, Georgia plus Emma (LB) and honourary girl Rob (LB) whose aim was to check whether the pubs shown on the OS map were still operating

Bridging event 1/2 Dec cancelled

The Bridging event with wheelchair basketball has been cancelled as we were unable to sign up sufficient people to make the event financially viable. We will be looking to run another event in Spring 2013. Apologies to those that had expressed an interest.

Sleep out at St Albans Abbey

Cetendone Explorers turned out on 7 December 2012 to experience sleeping rough using just cardboard and plastic sheeting for shelter. This was a find raiser for Watford New Hope Trust and the Explorer group. Our thanks go to our very generous sponsors - the full amount raised is still being counted. And also to Charlie Storr who organised the event for us, slept out with us and then showed us to the best greasy spoon in Hemel the following morning for an excellent fry up.

Rocket Man

Well done to all the Explorers who set up the fireworks and put on such a great display for Cheddington Scouts on Monday 5 November.
