Barn Dance 17th November

Our main fundraiser of the year is now well and truely on the way and we are selling tickets.

The event is a barn dance at the village hall on Saturday 17^th November and is aimed at families of all ages. Tickets are £10 per person or a bargain price of £30 for a whole family and includes supper.

Tickets are available from Kim Key or Masons.

Please do come along, it promises to be a great evening, everyone will enjoy it and we will raise a great sum for the scout group towards equipment and the new headquarters. Please also spread the word to friends and family, the more people we have, the more fun it will be and the greater the profit.

Forthcoming Events

Please make a note in your diary of these exciting forthcoming events all to support the 1^st Cheddington Scout Group.

Saturday 26^th May – Community Day – All sections are involved in clearing the sheds near Church Path in Cheddington as part of Community Week. Come & see what the children make out of the old wood & join our Garden Party at the Scout Headquarters.

Saturday 30^th June – Cheddington Village Fete – Once again this ever popular event is being organised jointly by the Scout Group, Cheddington School PTA & St Giles Church. The Scout Group will be running the usual stalls as well as some new ones!

Saturday 7^th July – Family Quiz – Get a team together for a fun afternoon of questions for all the family, refreshments and a tea will be served.

Saturday 3^rd November – Annual Fireworks Display & Bonfire – Come & support this annual village spectacle, the Scout Group will be running their ever popular BBQ

Saturday 17^th November – Family Casino Night – Are you feeling lucky? Everyone is welcome to an exciting evening of casino games led by a professional croupier!

We Need Your Help

The 1^st Cheddington Scout Group are looking for a some people to form a Fundraising Group, you could be a parent, a grandparent or just someone that would like to donate some time to your local Scout community. Are you good at coming up with ideas for events? Are you good at organising? Have you got time on your hands? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” you could just be the person we are looking for.

Each year the group needs to raise funds to:-

Support the running costs of their Scout Headquarters in Station Road.

Replace and purchase new equipment.

The current building is almost at the end of its life & over the next 3 years we would love to be able to raise enough money to eventually replace it!

If you would like to be part of this exciting project & would consider joining our fundraising group we would love to hear from you. If you feel you would not be able to make this level of commitment but would be available to help at some of the events we organise we would also love to hear from you.

Leaders Go Walkabout

Just a reminder everyone, our leaders will be doing the Endurance 80 in two weeks time. As well as the sheer pleasure of completing 50 miles in one day, they are raising money for the scout group. Please see their website www.justgiving.com/Jo-Jones3 - can we reach £500!
