Moving on to Explorers

The next section after Scouts is Explorers, which caters for members aged 14 to 18.

If you are a Scout approaching 14 and are interested in joining Explorer Scouts then please speak to the Scout Leader who will put you in contact with the Cetendone Explorer Unit, which meets in our headquarters.

When transferring to the Explorer Unit, Scouts are asked to participate in a 4 - 6 week transition period where they attend both Scout and Explorer meetings. Generally, this takes place when they reach the age of 14 but could be up to 3 months before or after depending upon room in the Explorer Unit and on how many other Scouts are going up at the same time. The Explorer Unit also operates bridging events to which older scouts are invited to see what life as an Explorer is like.

Once they have completed this period, Scouts will be awarded their Moving On Award and then invested into the Explorer Unit. Explorer Scout Uniform should be purchased during the transition.

We have prepared a leaflet giving information on the move to Explorers, please see the attachment below.

More information on Explorers and the Explorer Unit is available on our website. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to one of the Scout Leaders or the Explorer Leaders.
