Who Are We?

1^st Cheddington Scout Group runs two Beaver colonies (Endeavour and Discovery), a Cub pack and a Scout troop. We also have the Cetendone Explorer Unit which meets at our headquarters in Cheddington. Although the Explorer Unit is officially attached to our Scout District rather than the Scout Group, the Unit is closely partnered with 1^st Cheddington and operates very closely with the Group. After completing the sections at Cheddington, our members are encouraged to continue their involvement with Scouting either by joining the Scout Network or becoming an adult leader.

We have an enthusiastic and dedicated team of adult leaders who organise and run the weekly meetings of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. They also organise such things as activities, sleepovers and camps. The overall running of the group is overseen by the Group Scout Leader (GSL). The sections are managed by the section leaders aided by assistant leaders and section helpers. We are also assisted at our meetings and activities by parents as required.

All members of the group pay subs three times a year. We also hold regular fundraising and social events including jumble sales and selling burgers at the village annual fireworks. These events are organised by the Group Executive Committee, lead by the Group Chairman.
