Cub Programme

September - December 2011

Dear cubs and parents,

Cubs will resume after the Summer break on Wednesday September 14th. We will focus on various badges this term, along with the outdoor challenge award. We are planning to have a Cub camp on the weekend of 14-16 October, staying in one of the lodges at Lees Wood (as it will probably be a bit cold to stay in a tent by then!).

If you would like to help out at one of the sessions, or if you have any feedback or questions, please contact one of the leaders!

We are also planning to run the popular and useful Cubs Christmas Post during December, so we will need plenty of volunteer Cubs and parents to support that activity by delivering leaflets and Christmas cards. More details to follow, nearer the time!

November 03 Joint Fireworks with Beavers **Thursday**

The first session after half-term falls in the first week of November, so we thought we'd have a few fireworks and a campfire to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night on Thursday 3rd November (this will be instead of the normal Endeavour evening on the 31st October and the normal cub evening on the 2nd). The leaders have offered to cook us some sausages, so don't eat too much tea before you come. The evening will start at 6.30 and go on until around 7.30 (depending upon how many fireworks we have). Mums, Dads, brothers and sisters are welcome too.

In order to make a great evening, we would really appreciate it if families could help with firework donations, either by bringing along one or two big ones (please no boxes of small ones or sparklers, they are not suitable) or by contributing to the cost (please drop any money off to Ian Hale over half term or put it in the donations bucket on the night).

Could the cubs please bring along an apron, if they have one. The session will be at the Scout hut at the usual times of 7.00pm - 8.15pm.

13 Remembrance Day Parade **Sunday**

This year’s annual Remembrance Day Parade will be held on Sunday 13th November. This Parade is one of our most important public events of the year as it is the one chance we get to show Cheddington that Scouting continues to play its part in village life. It is therefore vital that every Beaver, Cub, Scout, Explorer and leader is there at the Parade in order to create the maximum impact.
