Moving on to Scouts
The next section after Cubs is Scouts, which caters for members aged 10½ to 14.
When transferring to the Scout Troop, Cubs are asked to participate in a 4 - 6 week transition period where they attend both Cub and Scout meetings. Generally, this takes place when they reach the age of 10½ but could be up to 3 months before or after depending upon room in the Scout Troop and on how many other Cubs are going up at the same time.
The Cubs will receive a visit from the Scout leader just before they start Scouts to introduce the section and to invite them to the meetings. They will also receive a letter explaining what will happen.
Once they have completed this period, Cubs will be awarded their Moving On Award and then invested into the Scout Troop. Scout Uniform should be purchased during the transition.
More information on Scouts and the Scout Troop is available on the Scout section of our website and from the national Scout website www.scouts.org.uk/scouts. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to the Cub Scout Leader or the Scout Leader.
