Moving on to Cubs

The next section after Beaver Scouts is Cub Scouts, which caters for members aged 8 to 10½.

When transferring to the Cub Pack, Beavers are asked to participate in a 3 - 4 week transition period where they attend both Beavers and Cub meetings. Generally, this takes place when they reach the age of 8 but could be up to 3 months before or after depending upon room in the Cub Pack and on how many other Beavers are going up at the same time.

The Beavers will receive a visit from the Cub leader just before they start Cubs to introduce the section and to invite them to the meetings. They will also receive a letter explaining what will happen.

Once they have completed this period, Beavers will be awarded their Moving On Award and then invested into the Cub Pack. Cub Uniform should be purchased during the transition.

More information on Cubs and the Cub Pack is available on the Cub section of our website and from the national Scout website www.scouts.org.uk/cubs. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to the Beaver Scout Leader or the Cub Scout Leader.
