Assistant Beaver Scout Leaders and Colony Assistants
The Beaver Colony is looking for assistant leaders to provide regular help at Colony meetings helping our new Beaver Scout Leader Lindsay to provide the demanding meetings that the successful colony expects every week. The role involves helping to plan the weekly meetings as well as running games and activities each week and additional activities at other times. We are also looking for Colony assistants that play a less active but still equally important role helping out at meetings when required.
Assistant Scout Leaders
Our Scout Troop continues to grow and we now need more assistant leaders to provide regular help at the Troop meetings or to take on specialist roles such as activity instruction in a particular skill. The role involves helping to plan the weekly meetings as well as running games and activities each week and additional activities at other times.
Assistant Explorer Scout Leader
We are planing to open an Explorer Unit in the next few months, open to 14-18 year olds from the surrounding areas. This is an exciting section and will help shape the young adults as they reach maturity. We have identified a leader for the section but need additional assistant leaders to allow the unit to open and to provide the wide variety of activities needed for a successful Unit. The role involves attending the weekly meetings as well as guiding the young people in planning the meetings and helping to organise additional activities at other times. This role will particularly appeal to those of you with a spirit of adventure who want to help young adults participate in a range of adventurous activities (and is happy to join in!).
Skills Instructors
Do you have a particular skill or hobby that might be of interest to the young people in the area? This might be anything from being good at handicrafts through to being an experienced climber, being fanatical on participating in a particular sport through to being an expert canoeist If you have such an interest and would be willing to share that interest with young people of any age from 6 to 18, please let us know; we are always on the lookout for additional activities, from a single one-off event through to regular weekly activities.
Full training is available for these roles. Candidates will be subject to full Criminal Records Bureau procedures as well as reference checks.
